Photo session with Miss Elsie Mae

I wanted to get a formal picture of Elsie Mae so one afternoon I arranged my photo area, picked up Elsie Mae, and sat her on the stool.

 

Just what do you think you are doing?

Hmm, is that a noise I hear?

How far am I sitting up off the floor?

(Swish, swish goes the tail.)  

Is that something moving down there?

Maybe I ought to instead explore what is behind this door.

Rats, I have to face forward again.

Humans can be so boring at times.

Wait!  I saw something move outside the window.

You know, I'm fed up with this photography thing.

It's totally boring sitting on a hard stool.

Meet Elsie Mae

Hi, I'm Elsie Mae..,

at one of my favorite spots in the house.

Now I wonder what this is.  A new cat toy?

 

Time out for a cat bath.

 

What are those dogs barking at now?  They make such a loud racket.

Stretching out my long body.

Oops!  I nearly fell off the ironing board!

What are you looking at?

Be that way.  I'll just turn my back.  I think I see a birdie anyway.

What is the first order of business today? 

 

Well, while you figure everything out, I will take a cat nap.

 

Things are a bit crowded on this desk if I say so myself. 

 

Time for a cat bath to keep my fur nice and silky..,

 

and then another snooze. 

 

This has been a busy day at the office. 

Catty New Year's Resolutions

This is my New Year's resolutions as I take a pen in paw and borrow this piece of paper.


First of all every chance I get to enjoy the finer things in life..,

And then to survive the winter season- see below for that. Meanwhile I'll take another snooze.

Winter Snoozes

In the winter time there is only one place for a cat to be and that is indoors where I can keep my furry body warm and cozy.

Here is one of my favorite spots where I can get comfy and snooze.

And also check the weather outside to see what is happening.

No change. How absolutely boring.

Maybe if I keep looking something will happen.



Oh no! A bunch of noisy kids invaded my house. What a racket they make! So I had to find another hiding spot away from little fingers that were trying to paw over my fur.


Sometimes you just have to turn your back and ignore the situation as best as you can.


At last some peace where I can take a much needed cat nap!


Go away winter. I want spring so I can run back outdoors when the world comes alive. Yawn!

Cat Tea

Since the weather outside has turned a bit frosty, I'm spending the nights inside. Every morning my Mistress comes here and opens these fat jars with labels on them when she makes a cup of tea. So I decided to investigate.

This looks like a nice spot for a cozy nap as well.

No dirty dishes in the way so I can spread out my fat body and get comfortable here by the sink.


Ah yes, this is the life for a cat even if the surface is a bit hard.


Are you still here? I'd like some privacy please.


Just look at this china cup with a flower on it. Purrfect for a cup of tea or even a cat toy. I think I'll check it out.


Hmm, so many kinds of tea to choose from. It's hard to make up my mind which one I'll try first.



Now this is what I call a nice cup of cat tea!

Jungle Cat

I'm spending my summer out in the overgrown enclosed garden behind the house.

It is a perfect place for a cat jungle.

Not to mention a safe place to snooze.

Did you say something?

I love spending time on this nice cat perch. Up here you can see all around.

Not to mention another nifty place for a cat nap.


Is that a birdie at the bird feeder that I see?


All kinds of interesting things are in this jungle..,


especially the bird box. I think there are baby birds inside.

I sometimes hear the sound of chirping.

Oh no! What is that big furry thing up there? A... lion...???

Whew! That was close. It's only Lady- a nice doggy that doesn't chase cats.
